Don’t go Peyton!
According to numerous sources Peyton Manning will no longer on the Indianapolis Colts. Manning is expected to be cut today so that the Colts don’t have to pay him a $28 million roster bonus.
This is a tragic end to a great relationship. Peyton Manning is the reason that Lucas Oil Field was built. While Manning was quarterback, the Colts broke the record for most wins in a decade. Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, but due to his missing the 2011 season the Colts went 3-13 and came to the conclusion that they need to go in a different direction.
Jim Irsay suffers from the Jerry Jones syndrome. Irsay wants to be the face of the Colts franchise and the only way that’s possible is with Peyton Manning no longer being a part of the Colts franchise. Irsay was hoping that Manning would retire to avoid this tough predicament; however, Irsay shouldn’t have made this situation public, but he wanted his face to be seen as the new head of the ‘horseshoe.’
Colts cutting Peyton Manning is a massive mistake. For a team that many analysts widely agree has many holes, the Colts are in the perfect position to trade their #1 overall pick and then get multiple draft picks which would help them rebuild. No matter how good Andrew Luck is, he’ll never be as good as Peyton Manning.
As an avid Peyton Manning supporter, I only wish him the best and hope that he finds the right match and they win the Superbowl. Hopefully the last few years of his career are great and he doesn’t wind up tarnishing his legacy.

You’re spot on regarding Irsay. Not sure the Colts were ever contemplating giving up Luck though. I mean he IS going to be the face of the new Colts going forward. And seriously, how many quarterbacks will ever be like Peyton…Just hope he stays healthy no matter where he ends up.
I agree, I am sure they weren’t. I just believe the Colts should’ve used more patience before blowing the whole thing up. They showed they had some good pieces towards the end of the season. For a team that’s changing philosophy and isn’t a hotbed for free agents, the draft is the key which I why I mentioned trading the #1 pick to get more picks. In my opinion they should be playing the numbers game.
